Title: Fashion Hackers
Location: MadLab
Description: The Fashion Hackers are a group of crafty individuals who knit, sew, make and remake fashionable one-of-a-kind pieces to sell to raise money for Oxfam. Come along to get involved and show off your skills or learn new ones
Start Time: 19:00
Date: 2010-10-07
End Time: 21:30
Fashion Hackers is a group of keen crafters who remake or upcycle clothing to sell in Oxfam stores.
The group will meet once a month to sort through donated clothing looking for items with the potential to increase their value, either through embellishment, repairing, or completely remaking the garment. The group also hope to recruit jewellery makers and knitters.
This group is both for skilled crafters and keen enthusiasts. We’ll be meeting once a month to sort through items, talk about our plans, and begin work on items. We’ll provide a few sewing machines, thread, fabrics and other bits and bobs on the night.
The items made in the group will be sold in Oxfam shops, bringing in much needed money for Oxfam’s work around the world.

I can’t come to this one, but keep me in touch about the next please as I’m really interested.
Sounds great, count me in!
Count me in too! I’m only halfway skilled at sewing, but do a mean crochet if you’re interested? Can pop along this evening..
Could you add me to the list for next time? I love to upcycle!
