Title: Films from the Edge – Experimental Film Course
Location: MadLab
Description: Join filmmaker Maria Gabriella Ruban for a six week exploration of experimental short films, both classic and contemporary. As well as discussing the medium and watching many films, there will be an opportunity to make short films for public screening.
Start Time: 18:00
Date: 2011-02-08
End Time: 20:30
Over six weeks, the group will look at classic and contemporary short and experimental films, discuss film theory and then later form crews within the group to make their own series of short films, with an option to showcase their film at a public screening in February.
The course will end in March with an evening film festival, with an audience of special guests.
What you need to be familiar with
This course is ideal for those who are not necessarily from a film background but have an interest in making films with readily available equipment.

There will be some preparatory theory work which will be given on signing-up.

hi there, i’d absoloutley love to do this!
Hi Leanne,
Although the course starts tonight (please come down if you can) it’s not strictly necessary, and you can start on the 15th, next Tuesday. Maria, the course leader can fill you in on what you’ve missed if that’s the case.
Please note this is a paid for workshop run by the Omniversity, and not a free community group meeting.
Hello!, I’m new on here and glad to be a part of the conversation .
