Hello and welcome to the first ever jQuery meetup in Manchester being held right here in the MadLab. If you are looking to start with jQuery but don’t know what to do first, are quite a dab hand and looking to learn a bit more or class yourself as an old pro there will be lots to gain from getting together and sharing our experiences with this javascript library. The first session is going to be split up into three main parts: Firstly, we’ll have the opportunity to meet and greet and get to know everyone that turns up and wants to be a part of the MadLab jQuery group.

Secondly, we are going to open up the floor and have a discussion about what you guys and gals want to get out of the jQuery meetup. This could be recomendations of live demos, presentations and workshops and is a great opportunity for you to help define the direction the MadLab jQuery group.

Lastly, I’ll be giving a presentation ‘Learning jQuery’, delving into the whereabouts of some fantastic resources and how you can burrow into this information to improve your own knowledge of jQuery. If you want to get involved right away, and have an idea you’d like to share, get in touch with me at getjquery@webvines.co.uk If you’re keen to get involved we can fit you into the first session and hit the ground running.

You can sign up for the meetup by visiting the meetup page: http://www.meetup.com/jQuery-Manchester/

Looking forward to seeing you there!
