We are going to discuss Waltz with Bashir: A Lebanon War Story by Ari Folman and David Polonsky. The book tells the story of a post Lebanon war soldier trying to find the truth about what happened during an event in which hundred if not thousands of Palestinians were massacred. During his investigations, he finds a collective amnesia among friends and soldiers that he chooses to challenge.

As per usual, I recommend bringing a suggested donation for the Madlab of £2 and brings a fiver if you would like some food delivered. Hope to see many of you there:)

Also, we will use this meeting as a time to discuss getting a film night on for this book so hopefully there’s another incentive!!!

    Hi

Just wondering what the average age is like for this group? I’m 29 years old and worried about meeting up with a group aimed at teenagers. (No offence)

  2. Arun says:

Hi Terry, don’t worry, we have no teenagers in our group ha ha. In all honesty it is targeted more at an audience who are interested in a variety of graphic novels. We’ve read only a few superhero graphic novels as they have large continuities. We usually choose graphic novels that can be read in a month and usually by themselves. Examples of what we have read include graphic novels such as Maus, Persepolis and From Hell.
