The first meeting of the Mad Graphic Novel Group!
We have a name, hashtag #Mad_GnG, and google group.
We will hopefully continue on the first Tuesday of every month, taking advantage of a discount deal from a pizza chain.
The initial graphic novel shall be the Alan Moore classic ‘From Hell’, plenty of discussion there then. Saxon will advocate this edition.
Like the Sci-fi group an alternative/complimentary piece shall be chosen, to save money they shall be webcomics, starting with the ridiculous AxeCop.
For the scouts who liked to be prepared, the line up for the next meetings are :

- The Dark Knight Returns
- Love & Rockets (Vol 2)
- Asterios Polyp

Hi guys, I’m the comic newbie who showed up last time. Thanks for the suggestion of From Hell, I only found a copy on Thursday so I’m only about half way through it so far. Unfortunately I’m suddenly moving to Cambridge so I won’t be able to make any more meetings – best wishes for the future though.

The first Graphic Novel Group was a grand success (shall do a full
write-up soon), Saxon did a wonderful job of explaining the world of
From Hell despite the trouble everyone had getting hold of a copy.
The next discussion will be on Frank Miller’s Batman: The Dark Knight
Returns as advocated by Omar. Lightening the mood the web comic side
discussion shall be the frisky (definitely NSFW) Chester5000 by Jess
Fink
Once again pizza shall be ordered so bring some pounds, last time £4
each was enough for a lot of pizza…..talking about money any
donations to Madlab would be greatly appreciated as well.
