The Manlug February 2014 meeting is taking place on 22nd February. Please note the later than usual date (fourth Saturday of the month as opposed to the regular third Saturday)

Summary:

This talk will be given by Dan Botting. It will be an introduction to bash scripting at the basic level – “everything from the shebang to loops.”

Dan says:
“It is an unbelievably useful skill to have. I have for example written a simple script at home that tells the rest of the family if they should remove the RJ-45 cable from the home plug (we have dodgy old Victorian wiring) or reboot the modem when the internet stops working as I got fed up having to work out why. It also then logs the results.”
