Title: NaNoWriMo
Location: MadLab
Description: Manchester NaNoWriMo Write-in
Date: 02-11-2012
Start Time: 18:00
End Time: 21:00
Meet The Manchester ‘WriMos!
Are you free Friday nights, 6-9pm in November? Have you been sheep dipped in an iridescent pool of crazy? Excellent! You’re a prime candidate for NaNo-er, and must agree to sign your soul over to merciless NaNo deity, for the duration of November. In doing so, you bind yourself to the task of striving for 50,000 words in 30 days. To aid you on this journey to save your soul from eternal torment, we (as in, the Municipal Liasons of Manchester) have arranged meetings to give you the time, support, and caffeinated incentives to achieve your target. Leaving you with a substantial chunk of manuscript (and your soul) to do as you please with.
Tea and coffee is provided, donations welcome to MadLab. Participants are encouraged to bring along food-like treats, willing friends, a jumper, and stationery. Power points are accessible too, for those of you modern peeps with new-fangled techno-watsits.
We will also be based on the ground floor, for anyone wishing to avoid the long journey up flights of stairs!
MadLab is a non-profit organisation, and have kindly offered the use of this facility for FREE since we are a voluntary group (and open to anyone wishing to participate), so a collection plate/bowl/cup will be available for anyone willing to help keep this fab place ticking over.
nb. This is not an official NaNoWriMo meeting, and the content has not been reviewed by National Novel Writing Month. It has been set up by the Municipal Liasons for this region. For more information on National Novel Writing Month, visit www.nanowrimo.org.

Hiya
I’m 13 and I’ve entered in the young writer’s programme. Would coming to this be useful for young writers or is it designed for the adult writers?
Thanks!
Hello, Ellen!
Thank you for your comment. You are more than welcome to attend any of the write-ins. I’d recommend you have a look at the NaNoWriMo website so you have an idea of what the event entails (if you don’t manage to reach 50,000 words though, it doesn’t really matter. It’s really just for fun).
If you have a friend or family member to bring along with you, that would also be a really good idea! The group is of mixed ages, though I think most are 16+.
The group itself is set up so that you have space to write at your leisure. There are power outlet points (plugs and extension leads) if you want to bring along a laptop, but I’ll be bringing along a good old fashioned notepad and pen.
Tea and coffee is available, as well as a few sweets and biscuits. If you’d like anything else though, you’re more than welcome to bring it along.
The session is free, as MadLab is charity run (from donations from the public), and the sessions are open to anyone wishing to attend. More information about the meetings here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/forums/europe-england-manchester/threads/72872 You’ll also find a link to the facebook and twitter page on the right hand side in the links section here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/regions/europe-england-manchester.
Hope this helps!
Kelly, Municipal Liason (one of three) for Manchester NaNoWriMo.
Hi!
Ok well I’ve done NaNoWriMo before, I did about 3,000 words, so this time I’m going for 30,00 (big difference I know!!) and I think having meet ups would be a good idea… so even though I’m 13, I can still come down?
