This event is about shareable licensed music such as music with a Creative Commons licence.This is music the copyright holder has licensed in a way that allows sharing. Part of the event will investigate the shareable licensed music scene covering:
- Copyright
- Licensing such as Creative Commons licensing
- Shareable music sharing sites such as Jamando
- Methods of sharing shareable music such as the Bittorrent protocol
With the primary part of the night being music listening, discussion and review. We will be sharing not only the music itself but also our recommendations, views and tips. Please bring along the shareable music you like and a willingness to participate.
The event is not a “disco”. It will be more like a culture review show with a panel, only at this event you are on the panel. Later in the year there maybe a shareable music party if there is enough interest and organisers.
