If you are interested in Digital DJ’ing, we would like to warmly welcome to our new group at the MadLab. We welcome users of any DJ’ing software, whether it be Traktor, Serato, Ableton, Virtual DJ or any other, to share their knowledge of using their software or to come along and get advice and tips how to better use it. If you have no experience in digital DJ’ing come along and see if its for you and find out what you need to get set up.

For our second meet-up topics are:
  • Using Keys for harmonic mixing – Haroon will do a mini-session on detecting keys and using the camelot wheel
  • Mapping with Traktor / Virtual DJ / other – Share your custom mapping (volunteers/host will present please contact @HaroonK if you would like to share)
  • Share your favourite effects – all to show and tell your fav effect(s)
  • Have a go at other’s kit – last time folk brought in their kit and gave a show and tell, this time have a swap around and have ago using other kit.
Please bring along your laptop, midi-controller and sound card, MadLab has a PA we can can plug into.

If you are interested in Digital DJ’ing, we would like to warmly welcome to our new group at the MadLab. Our first meeting is on the 20th February 2012, 7-9pm. We welcome users of any DJ’ing software, whether it be Traktor, Serato, Ableton, Virtual DJ or any other, to share their knowledge of using their software or to come along and get advice and tips how to better use it. If you have no experience in digital DJ’ing come along and see if its for you and find out what you need to get set up.

For our first meeting we would like to get your views on what you would like to get out of the monthly meet ups. Topics could include, but not limited to:

  • How tag and organisation your music
  • Create custom midi-mappings
  • Share how you use combinations of effects
  • Discuss interesting ways you mix
  • Creating Mixes and sharing them online

Please bring along your laptop, midi-controller and sound card, MadLab has a PA we can can plug into.
