Creative Exposures first meeting

Friday, November 18th, 2011

The creative exposures group began with introductions about myself and why I started the group(to bring people together who have the same interests and talk about photography in a different way). I also asked in the introduction how each person had heard about the group as from a promoting perspective I would like to know what is working best, twitter facebook etc.

After introductions we moved onto a few of my favourite photographers that work in the experimental ways I do, to get a clear idea of what I mean. I showed the work of Francesca Woodman,Seba Kurtis and also Lucy Ridges. I then showed a Flickr presentation of some of the photos I had been inspired to produce. (more…)

Creative Exposures is a group for photographers and artists to discuss experimental techniques and ideas within the area of photography.
Every meet will highlight a photographer/artist working with an alternative process. You can be inspired by them or continue on your own path of experimentation.
Works in progress or finished can be shown to the group and discussed to gain feedback, but this is optional.

Alternative processes can include:Long exposures,pinhole,iphoneography,lomo,expired film,blurry,soft focus,negative,polaroid,photograms,manual settings,fish eye.etc

Please note this is not a group just based on film experimentation.
The aim of the group is to share processes and discover new ones together,so please come along and share your ideas!
If anyone is interested and wants to attend but doesnt at the minute do any experimentation or take photographs please do so.

Tea and coffee provided, all donations made go to MadLab.

Please contact JenniferBrookes86@hotmail.com for more information and check out www.followyourarts.blogspot for ideas on experimental techniques.
