Title: Manchester Quantified Self
Location: MadLab
Description: The Manchester Quantified Self meetup (#QSelfUK) is modeled on the Bay Area Quantified Self Show & Tell meetings started in 2008 by Gary Wolf and Kevin Kelly in the Bay Area.

Start Time: 19:00
Date: 08-11-2013
End Time: 21:00

Manchester QS meetup consists of Show & Tell where people present or simply talk for 10-15 mins about their experience and experiments with self-tracking, quantifying and self-hacking whether it involves devices, applications or not. (Please read the guidelines for speakers and presenters below.)

This part lasts till about 8.30pm. We then move next door to Terrance or Common, which is an essential and integral part of the meetup, as important as the first part the ‘Show & Tell’. If you can join us, I encourage you to do so. Not only it’s always good fun, the conversations are equally interesting.

Guidelines for presenters & speakers at Manchester QS meetups: Let Ian Forrester know if you would like to do a short talk, 10-15 mins. Personal perspective on your experience with data gathering, self-tracking or analysis is important. Simple ’3rd party’ presentations about devices or applications are welcome at this stage. A personal perspective is better but as this is the start, I’m happy allowing 3rd party presentations at this stage (this may change in future)

Important note on logistics:

As this is the first QS Manchester, I’m not going to set any restrictions except keeping to the 10-15min limit. If your treating the time as a sales pitch we reserve the right to speed you along and cut your talk short.
