Science-themed Teawitter (downstairs)
The teawitter party is an excuse for Manchester’s lovers of things tea (and coffee!), cake and twitter related to get together and swap tales, put names to faces and enjoy the best in home made confection!
It’s a social gathering, a way to meet friends old and new, and build on the thriving tea party twitter community!
The format is simple, make something to share, bring it along, we’ll keep you in tea, coffee and whatever else you want to drink. Come meet friends old and new and put a friendly face to the online crowd!
If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact us as soon as possible so we can make arrangements.
We had a really successful opening night, and had many positive responses about the work and the exhibition concept. In total we had approximately 150 visitors and over the past week we have had on average 260 people come through the door.
We were particularly interested in hosting our exhibition at MadLab, as it’s a really interesting and creative space, and we wanted to create a blended exhibition of different works and practices that take place here. A good example of this is in reference to Paul Plowman‘s Twitter Drum, as this was conceptualised and made at the HacMan group which is based at MadLab. We also worked with Teawitter who created a fun picnic in the gallery. (more…)
