Girl Geek Dinner 7 Review

On Wednesday, 9th March, the Manchester Girl Geeks got together at Manchester’s MadLab for a talk and dinner to celebrate (belatedly) the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. Along with hundreds of other similar groups around the world they sat down for an evening of talks by geek women, passionate about their subjects, to share stories and to make new friends!

Web Design Foundation – One Learner’s Tale

Its designed so anyone can fit into it whatever their previous knowledge, whether thats an absolute novice or simply wanting to brush up on some techniques. Heres an insight into his thoughts.

Uncut Society Review

“How do you eat an elephant?”, goes the African proverb. “One bite at a time.” Like a great many people, I find the Big Society agenda is not really my cup of tea. Still, I am sure there are better ways of making my voice heard than donning my Grandad’s tin hat and declaring full-scale war on Nick Clegg. Saturday’s event at MadLab seemed like a good place to start.

Shareable Music Night

On Saturday 5th March, Madlab played host to a Shareable Music Night. This rather interesting event was partly an opportunity to investigate and discuss the shareable music scene, and partly an opportunity to share and discover new music. Or, in other words, we broke up our discussion with sound system interludes. I might make this a mandatory feature of any other discussion/presentation I attend in future.
