Writers Forum North is a space for poets to share and receive feedback on works-in-progress.

The poetries practiced by attendees are those usually described as ‘other’. What that means is poems involving experiments with language; poems demonstrating an awareness of both the past and future; poems which have something to say; poems which intentionally refrain from saying anything; poems which are funny; poems committed to changing the way we see the world. Also, many other kinds of poems besides…!

Anyone who wants to attend but doesn’t want to read is very welcome.

Following the reading from attendees own work meetings close with a sharing of influences and a discussion of the various poetry books currently being enjoyed by members.

Future workshop meetings could involve other activities. Writers Forum North is very much a member-led group: come along and share your ideas!
