XP Manchester

Title: XP Manchester
Location: MadLab
Description: XP-Manchester is a regional group with the goal of promoting, discussing, practicing, learning and generally showing an interest in eXtreme Programming, test-driven development, kanban, etc.
Date: 10-01-2013
Start Time: 18:30
End Time: 21:00

Last minute change of speaker this month, sorry for the late delay in announcing! (but let’s be fair, it’s certainly not the latest announcement we’ve managed…)

Mike Dickens will be presenting “Agile – why are you doing it to yourself?”

We’ll be looking at really questioning the ceremony around your Agile practises, and give you something to think about for the new year ahead as you strive to become a better developer.

Why are you doing it? Do you know why you’re doing it? Does anyone else know why you’re doing it? And just what is it you’re doing anyway?

This is a less ‘hands on’ session, without code I’m told. Why not drag your manager along?

Madlab from 6:30pm (talk starts at 7), Thursday 10th Jan.
Common beforehand and after

Start Time: 09:00
Date: 2012-02-04

Book: Free but essential.

*This event is fully booked!*

Following the success of our last two day sessions, we’ve set another one up!

There’ll be plenty of collaborative coding with people of all XP experience! Bring a laptop if you have one, but in true XP style, all coding will be done in pairs, so if you don’t have one, come along anyway!
The day will aim to practice aspects of XP including TDD, Pair Programming, Refactoring, and Continous Delivery through various exercises. We may even have a competition!!
