MadLab are looking for volunteers over the summer. MadLab, based in a former shop in the Northern Quarter is a space you can get together with like-minded individuals and work on your urban gardening, crochet, hacking, programming, media arts, film making, animating project. We allow groups with all of these interests to use our space as long as their meetings are open to the public. We also run courses for professionals and rend out space to private groups.
We are at an exciting time and need help with marketing projects and events we are running over the summer.
When
June – August
Time commitment & duration
Part-time or full-time volunteer position, minimum 3 days a week.
Skills required
Well organised, basic computer skills, a good people person.
To be able to work well with the staff in MadLab, and own initiative.
To be able to be involved in resolving any potential problems with projects.
We need help in the following areas:
- supporting events
- blogging – writing copy
- taking photos, audio and video (editing too!)
- design (print & web)
- marketing

My name is Christian Delroy. I am presently studying computer science and engineering part time with the Open University as well as working full time as a manager at the Waterstones bookshop in Manchester on Deansgate. I have experience with HTML and other web orientated development tools such as WordPress and Javascript. I have a Bachelors degree in Creative Arts specialising in photography. I’m originally from Montreal, Canada and am fluent in both English and French. The semester for my program ends on May 30th and I’m looking for an opportunity to help develop my programming skills over the summer until my program starts up again in October.
