Manchester Digital Laboratory

MadLab are looking for volunteers over the summer. MadLab, based in a former shop in the Northern Quarter is a space you can get together with like-minded individuals and work on your urban gardening, crochet, hacking, programming, media arts, film making, animating project. We allow groups with all of these interests to use our space as long as their meetings are open to the public. We also run courses for professionals and rend out space to private groups.

We are at an exciting time and need help with marketing projects and events we are running over the summer.

When

June – August

Time commitment & duration

Part-time or full-time volunteer position,  minimum 3 days a week.

Skills required

Well organised, basic computer skills, a good people person.
To be able to work well with the staff in MadLab, and own initiative.
To be able to be involved in resolving any potential problems with projects.
We need help in the following areas:

• supporting events
• blogging – writing copy
• taking photos, audio and video (editing too!)
• design (print & web)
• marketing

Pick up skills useful across third sector organisations and for personal development. There any many events, groups, and exhibitions that MadLab run, let us know what your interests are and we’ll make sure you get out of this as much as you put in. We can offer reasonable travel expenses within Manchester and Lunch.
