Java in 2014, 2015 & 2016 – Ben Evans

Wednesday 8th July, 6:30pm

We are delighted to announce that Ben Evans will be joining us to give a talk on Java in 2014, 2015 & 2016.

Until quite recently, pundits were confidently proclaiming the death of Java. With the smash hit of Java 8 and arguably the fastest-growing developer ecosystem on the planet, that’s now looking quite short-sighted. In this talk, Ben Evans discusses where we were, where we are, and what’s next for Java.

Ben Evans is an author, speaker, consultant and educator. He is co-founder of jClarity, a startup which delivers performance tools & services to help development & ops teams. He helps to organize the London Java Community and serves on the Java Community Process Executive Committee, helping define standards for the Java ecosystem. He is a Java Champion, 3-time JavaOne Rockstar Speaker and a Java Editor at InfoQ. Ben is author of “The Well-Grounded Java Developer”, the new edition of “Java in a Nutshell” and the forthcoming “Practical Java Performance”. Ben is a regular public speaker on the Java platform, performance, concurrency, and related topics, at companies and conferences all over the world.
