We’ve finally managed to sleep off our hangovers and drag ourselves to a keyboard to let you know that MadLab’s digital engagement programme – Make Stuff – won ‘Best Tech for Good Project’ at the Big Chip Awards 2017!
We had a really tough category, being up against the Co-op and BBC micro:bit, so were very surprised (and happy) to win.
The judges said it achieved recognition for ‘encouraging hands on use of technology and breaking down the barriers between tech that’s transforming our lives. Exemplary engagement across the North.’
We’d like to give a massive thanks to Sarah Unwin, Marieke Navin, and Emily Wade and our brilliant, amazing, incredibly good-looking volunteers.

The Big Chip Awards were founded in 1997 by Annie Millar and are now the largest digital awards outside London and the longest running in the UK.
