Next weekend we’ll be opening the MadFabLab doors for Make:Shift:Do, a weekend long programme of craft innovation workshops. Stop by for a taste of the future of making, with Arduino programming and laser cut jewellery workshops, plus tours of the maker space.

Open Day – Friday 27th October 12 – 4pm

Join us for our open day, where we’ll be running 3D printer and Laser Cutter demos all afternoon. Our MadFabLab facilitators will also be on hand to show you around and answer all of your digital making questions.

Arduino Traffic Lights Workshop – Saturday 28th October 12 – 4pm

Have a go at coding with electronics in this taster session workshop. Learn to connect & configure the Arduino (a programmable circuit board and software), upload programs, prototype circuits & interact with different components. This workshop will take you through setting up the Arduino, and creating circuits to run example codes based on pedestrian crossings.

Wear your Art on your Sleeve Workshop – Saturday 28th October 12 – 4pm

In this guest workshop you can turn your slogans & illustrations into digital files and using a laser cutter, etch and cut your design to create wearable jewellery with a positive message. Designed an facilitated by WONDERHAUS AKA Julia Roy Williams, a local digital jewellery designer, who creates participatory events that allow people to explore digital design.
