*FREE WORKSHOP* PatternCraft with artist Gemma May Latham

Posted by Team MadLab, 3 months ago

How would you like to feature in a crowdfunding video? On Thursday 22 February, Gemma May Latham is hosting FREE workshops at MadLab and invites you to come and explore programming with punched cards.

PatternCraft is an analogue to digital punched card reader that teaches the fundamentals of programming and encoding data through the write-once medium of a physical punched card.  During the workshop, you will explore how punched cards can be used to program Minecraft, write secret messages, and even compose music.

All ages welcome

Children must be accompanied by an adult (adult ticket not required).

For tickets, see below –

Thursday 22 February:

>>>11.00 am until 12.30 pm<<<

>>>1.30 until 3.00 pm<<<

Participation in this event will require you to willingly partake in the filming of a Kickstarter campaign video.

Created by digital artist Gemma May Latham and STEM ambassador David Whale in 2015, PatternCraft has been demoed and tested by thousands of families across the country at Maker Faires and STEAM events. Due to lots of requests for readers, the team are now working on a crowdfunding campaign and want to show the product being enjoyed.
