We are excited to announce that Chris Ball, our creative technologist whizz, will be running two NEW half-day workshops this coming autumn.

These courses are ideal for those of you wanting to create custom MIDI controllers with Arduino, and learning about getting to grips with the basics of the versatile programming language Processing for a bit of creative coding!

Be sure to secure your place by following the links below as this new series is sure to bring the heat!

Introduction to Making MIDI Devices with Arduino at MadFabLab
Saturday 8 September

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create custom MIDI controllers using Arduino. Chris Ball has used Arduino extensively to create MIDI faders, laser harps, a variety of theremins, and other bespoke devices. Although this course is for beginners to Arduino, a little programming experience or experience using music software with MIDI functionality (Ableton, Cubase, Logic, MuLab, Reaper, etc.) will be a big help.

Creative Coding with Processing at MadFabLab
Saturday 13 October

Chris Ball will take you through the ins and outs of getting started with the Java-based programming language Processing and its many applications. Processing’s open source status encourages audience participation and development, allowing for a huge library of projects to draw inspiration from, and a community of users to contribute and push the possibilities of the software. This course is suitable for all abilities and we welcome beginners with no previous experience of Processing.
