Manchester Linux User Group

ManLUG is a group of GNU/Linux users from in and around Manchester who meet up regularly to discuss Linux and the GNU operating system.

ManLUG is recognised as the oldest user group dedicated to Linux in the UK, and has met regularly since 1994. MadLab has been home to the group since 2010.

ManLUG meeting September 2016

The September meeting is a joint meeting with Manchester Free Software to celebrate Software Freedom Day 2016, it will be held at Terrace NQ next door to Madlab in the upstairs meeting room.

14:00-14:30 Talk: Intro to SFD2016 in Manchester and Software Freedom by Michael Dorrington

14:45-15:15 Talk: Mesh networking (and the Beaglebone Black) by Bob Mottram

15:30-16:00 Talk: Legal threats to Software Freedom by John Rooke

16:15-16:45 Workshop: Freeing Your Smart Phone by James R. Haigh

16:45-17:00 Closing thoughts on the day by Michael Dorrington and others

There will be Minetest and a B.A.T.M.A.N network running the whole event that you can try out. There will also be Libreboot laptops to experience.
