North West Drupal User Group

Tuesday 14th March, 7:00pm

Drupal is a free and open-source software package that allows you to easily organize, manage and publish your content, with an endless variety of customization. The North West Drupal User Group meets once a month at MadLab and features expert help and demonstrations. Go to their Meetup page to RSVP or get more info on upcoming events. Check out some footage from previous meetups on the NWdug YouTube account

February meet up:

• Block management in Drupal 8: Andrew MacPherson

We’ll take a look at block visibility conditions, writing a condition plugins, and a look at the state of the D8 port of Context module, with the awesome Andrew MacPherson, aka https://twitter.com/martianwebdev.

• AWS: Demystifying the Cloud of Acronyms

PHP supremo, diversity champion and ElePHPant peddlar Mark Baker  is also coming to demystify AWS for us.

Working in Web Development, we speak a language of jargon and acronyms; but take a look at Amazon Web Services (AWS), and even the most hardened Jargonista or Acronymite might quail at the plethora of obscurity and abbreviation that Amazon wrap around their cloud services. Looking at the control panel is a maze of arcane vernacular, and wading through the documentation can be as daunting as deciphering ancient alchemic journals.

So let’s have a go at demystifying the cloud of acronyms, and look at how Innoved Learning provide a high-availability, resilient SaaS (Software as a Service) platform using AWS services.
