Manchester Jewellers Network

We provide a forum for emerging jewellers to develop and show new work and an incentive for established contemporary jewellers to extend their ranges and take on fresh challenges. We intend to set a precedent for the broadening of exhibition venues available to contemporary jewellery and an opportunity for the general public to see innovative work in non-traditional settings.

The group has over 20 members and is growing steadily. We are all professional jewellers resident in the North West of England who meet once a month to network, lend mutual support and to plan new initiatives.

Through exhibitions we develop the profiles of designers in the region and raise awareness regarding handmade work currently available to commission and buy. The group represents an opportunity for designers to promote work in a broad range of materials such as gold, silver, rubber, perspex, plastic, nylon, resin and wood.

Rather than functioning as a commercial association, the MJN is primarily concerned with the promotion of exciting and innovative contemporary jewellery. To these ends, each group exhibition features exclusive new designs from each contributing member. We aim to exhibit in outlets accessible to culturally diverse audiences and to open up new venues for the display of our work both nationally and internationally.

Manchester Jewellers Network was established in 2002 by Eve Redmond and Jo Bloxhom. Our main aim is to support excellence in our field, exchange ideas and build up a reputation for our work through exhibitions.
