“Encouraging hands-on use of technology and breaking down barriers… Exemplary engagement with communities across the North.”
— Big Chip Awards, Judges’ Feedback
Our programme of community-powered hands-on digital days for young people and families, at libraries and community venues around Greater Manchester – breaking attendance records and engaging new audiences with the tools and technologies which are shaping our lives.
Visitors were given the opportunity to engage with a range of accessible digital and maker experiences, devised and delivered by enthusiastic volunteers from MadLab’s extended digital making community: sewn electronic “soft circuitry”, Minecraft programming, building the “Internet of Things”, 3D printing and scanning, “patterncrafting”, and more.
Make Stuff was the recipient of the 2017 “Tech for Good” Big Chip award.
